This uphill hike to the cave in Sri Lanka might be strenuous… but trust me! It’s totally worth it!

Dambulla Cave Temple in Sri Lanka is an incredible place to explore! It’s one of the largest and best-preserved cave temple complexes in the WORLD.

The site has a few caves filled with amazing statues and murals and the thing is… they date back over 2,000 years!

For me, the most impressive part is the giant reclining Buddha statue, inside the cave!

The murals that cover the walls are vibrant and tell stories from the Buddha’s life. Hiking up to the caves gives you a fantastic view of the surrounding landscape, too.

Dambulla is not just a religious site; it’s also a fascinating peek into Sri Lanka’s mountain ranges. Along the hike, you’ll see the forests and rock formations. If you love culture and adventure, hiking up to these caves is definitely a highlight of any trip to #srilanka
