Introducing Luxun Academy of Arts

Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts, located in Qiaoergou, 5 kilometers northeast of Yan'an City , is a comprehensive literature and art school founded by the Communist Party of China during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression to train literary and artistic cadres and workers for the war. It currently preserves a Catholic church and dozens of stone caves.

The academy was the only authentic Western Romanesque-style building in Yan'an at the time. Luyi was the first comprehensive art school founded by the Communist Party of China. In 1940 , Mao Zedong inscribed the school motto: " Intensive, Serious, Diligent, and Modest . "
