Suzhou Dangshan Pear King Scenic Area | China's Pear Capital

Dangshan County is known as the "Pear Capital of China" and the "Home of Chinese Crisp Pears." It has a pear orchard of 33,000 hectares, the largest in China. Located on the old course of the Yellow River, the fertile soil and suitable climate make it an ideal place for pear trees to grow. In March, the pear blossoms are in full bloom, turning the whole Dangshan into a sea of flowers.
Every March, Dangshan's pear blossoms bloom in full swing. The pear blossoms are as white as snow, hazy, elegant, and graceful, like snowflakes falling from the sky. In the bright sunshine, the sea of pear blossoms looks like a cloud of brocade, covering thousands of villages and decorating the gullies. When the breeze blows, the blooming petals are like thousands of white butterflies dancing in the blue sky, making people instantly intoxicated in the sea of flowers.
The sea of pear blossoms in Dangshan not only attracts tourists with its spectacular natural beauty but also with its rich folk customs and cultural connotations.
I've eaten Dangshan pears and seen pear trees, but I've never seen such a large area of ancient pear trees. I can only describe it as "spectacular!"
The large area of ancient pear trees is said to have been planted before the Qing Dynasty. The trunks are unique in shape, and the large white flowers look like ink paintings. There were many people during the Qingming Festival, and I waited in line for a long time to take the shuttle bus, but it was worth it. I decided to come back in autumn when the fruits are ripe. Imagine the golden fruits hanging on the branches, 500,000 mu! How spectacular!
