Turkey, Sunken City of Kekova Boat trip

I didn’t really know what to expect when I signed up for a boat trip to Kekova, but it turned out to be a really interesting and refreshing experience.

We left from Kaş early in the morning. The weather was already warm, and the sea was completely calm. Once the boat pulled away from the harbor, things immediately felt more relaxed — no rush, no noise, just the sound of the waves and fresh air.

One of the coolest parts of the trip was passing over the Sunken City of Kekova. You could clearly see the remains of ancient buildings under the water — like stone walls and steps. It’s strange to think that people once lived there, and now it’s all underwater.

We stopped at a few different spots to swim. The water was incredibly clear — probably the clearest I’ve ever seen. At Simena (Kaleköy), we climbed up to the castle for a great view of the coastline. The area is small and quiet, with just a few houses and boats.

Lunch was served on the boat — simple but tasty: grilled fish, salad, olives, and some fresh watermelon. It was a nice break before heading back.

By the end of the day, I felt totally refreshed. It wasn’t just a typical boat ride — there was nature, swimming, a bit of history, and a calm vibe all around. Definitely worth doing if you’re in the area.
