In the lush forests at the foot of Moganshan Mountain in Deqing, Zhejiang, a resort estate quietly emerges—Deqing Radisson Estate, with Eastern Zen as its soul and Jiangnan garden architecture as its backbone.
The building complex is arranged in a staggered layout following the mountain contours. Gray-tiled sloping roofs echo the traditional dwellings of Moganshan. Designers repurposed abandoned kiln bricks, firing them anew to build landscape walls full of historical texture, with each brick carrying the memory of Deqing's thousand-year history as a pottery capital.
The spacious dimensions of the basic rooms, starting from 45m², are rare in the Moganshan area. All rooms feature a "floating" design, with bathrooms that are true works of art: hand-hammered brass basins, locally quarried stone bathtubs, complemented by French Diptyque bath products, and 270° panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows framing dynamic mountain views.
In the all-day restaurant's open kitchen, the chef creates innovative Zhejiang cuisine using Moganshan's unique whip bamboo shoots and stone ear mushrooms. Try the "tea-smoked slow-roasted Angus beef ribs," using beef from local Huzhou farms, smoked for eight hours with Shifeng Longjing tea.
The spa center introduces traditional Balinese therapies and has created a unique "bamboo cupping" treatment using vacuum cups made from fresh bamboo. The infinity pool extends into the forest with its cantilever design, transforming into a heated pool in winter—bathing amid snowy scenery is truly exceptional.
What makes Deqing Radisson Estate unique is that it's not just a place to rest but a complete aesthetic system of mountain living. When you follow the rhythm of tea pickers' fingertips in the morning mist, when the sunset casts bamboo shadows on walls like rice paper, what's offered here is not just service but a philosophy of life you can take with you.
