National Comics Museum Preparatory Office: A New Perspective on Taiwanese Comics

Located in the West District of Taichung City, the National Comics Museum Preparatory Office is housed within the historic Taichung Prison complex. Combining traditional Japanese architectural styles with modern exhibition design, it creates a unique cultural space.

Since its opening at the end of 2023, the site’s 19 historic buildings have been revitalized into diverse themed exhibition areas, including "Read," "Taste," "Stay," "Transform," "Soak," "Chase," "Comics," and "Immersive Theater." These areas showcase the past, present, and future of Taiwanese comics.

Through curatorial projects like the "Comic Diffusion Project," visitors are invited to delve into the historical context and creative essence of Taiwanese comics.
