From Passo Giau to Cinque Torri: A Trek Through Italy's Hidden Valleys

Here’s my crash guide to the epic Dolomites adventure: two massive must-sees near Cortina d’Ampezzo! 😍⛰️
Must-See Places Around Cortina d’Ampezzo:
1. Cinque Torri – Open Air Museum (Day 3)
If you’re into World War history or dramatic rock formations, it’s a cool combo: the trails here feature restored trenches and outdoor exhibits from WWI! Everyone raves about this spot, so worth a visit for the Insta shots and hidden nooks (though honestly, not my top pick for pure hiking). The chairlift from Rifugio Bai de Dones makes getting up easy.
2. Tre Cime di Lavaredo (Day 4)
This is THE classic Dolomites hike: round-trip views that go wild, and pretty manageable for most hikers. The entire loop around the Tre Cime towers = panoramic perfection! There’s a parking fee €40-60 — you’ll park at Rifugio Auronzo and set off from there. Super pro tip from my own adventure: bring your own food, because there’s not much for supplies on trail, and the huts can get pricey.
