Dongshan Island, a hidden gem in Fujian

#MarchGoodPlaces2025
I like the sea, and I want to go to an island on the first day of my trip❤️

I thought that the towns and villages in these fourth-tier cities would be very backward.
#东山岛风动石景区 is unexpectedly perfect.
There are wooden walkways along the coast, and if you are lucky enough to have a sunny day, the sea water will be particularly blue.
The temperature is only 22/23 degrees.
I didn't sweat all over after walking on the coastal trail for an afternoon 😌

Leave the scenic area and walk to the city center.
Because Fujian and Taiwan both have Minnan culture,
So they also live in old houses, and the old streets are similar to those in Kinmen.
There aren't many souvenir shops, so it doesn't feel very commercialized.

There are various special #cafes in the old street, among which #TransferCafe is particularly special.
The antique furniture from the 1960s and 1970s is preserved.
You can experience the feeling of drinking coffee in an old house.

The prices on the island are higher than I expected.
A small dish usually costs ¥25-30, and seafood costs more than ¥40.
A cup of sugarcane juice costs ¥15, and a cup of coffee in the cafe costs ¥28.

If the tide is low in the morning, you can go to #fishbonesandbar.
Walk up the sandbar and you can reach the center of the sea!
