Ancient Irrigation System - Dujiangyan

During a visit to Chengdu, I took a day trip with family friends out to Dujiangyan 都江堰, one of the oldest and longest surviving irrigation systems in the world. The views were very scenic - you have mountains, rivers, temples, old bridges, and plenty of street vendors around. It was also a great learning opportunity to educate ourselves on how this area got started. The site is a bit far from the city, we needed a car, but it was worth it, and we had a lovely lunch,dinner, tea, and drinks at the local restaurants in the countryside.
