🏔️ Everything You Need to Know About Visiting Mount Emei 峨眉山 – Don’t Go Without Reading This First

If you’re planning to conquer one of China’s most sacred Buddhist mountains, here’s your one-stop cheat sheet 📝👇

🎫 Tickets & Transport

✔️ Entrance Ticket: ¥160 (valid for 2 days) – buy this before anything else!
✔️ Sightseeing Bus: ¥90 round trip (from Huangwan Tourist Center to Leidongping) – takes ~2 hours one way
✔️ Cable Car (to Golden Summit): ¥120 round trip (¥65 up / ¥55 down) – saves you a 3-hour uphill trek!

🌅 Best Sunrise Plan

1️⃣ Take the high-speed train to 峨眉山站
2️⃣ Hop on the free shuttle (15 mins) → Huangwan Tourist Center
3️⃣ Board the sightseeing bus (~2 hrs) → Leidongping
4️⃣ Walk 1.5km (30–40 min) uphill to Jieyin Hall
5️⃣ Ride the cable car (~3 min) → GOLDEN SUMMIT 💫
📍Pro Tip: Set off before 6am if you’re chasing sunrise magic 🌄
🌤️ Must check the weather forecast! Cloudy or rainy = no view, only mist 😩

🧭 Scenic Descent Itinerary (Recommended!)

✅ From Golden Summit, take the cable car back to Leidongping
✅ Tell the bus driver to let you off at Wannian Temple stop
✅ Hike ~40 mins uphill to the temple – super worth it!
✅ Walk down scenic trail:
Wannian Temple → Bailong Cave → Qingyin Pavilion → Monkey Reserve 🐒 → Baoguo Temple
⏱️ Takes ~2 hours with gorgeous forest views! 🌿

💡 Must-Know Tips

⚠️ The cable car isn’t right at Leidongping! Be prepared to walk 1.5km uphill first.
🚗 Driving? You’ll have to switch to the sightseeing bus anyway midway. Don’t bother driving.
🥾 Want to hike all the way? You can! Start at Baoguo Temple and be prepared for 13 hours to the summit. Hardcore but possible 💪
🍜 Food? No worries! Leidongping has decent restaurants, and temples along the way offer vegetarian meals. Lots of snacks on the trail too!

We did the Cable car + partial hike through cultural/scenic trail and able to finish it within 6 hours.

🎯 Plan smart, check weather, and don’t forget your power bank – this is one of China’s most unforgettable mountain experiences!
