Emei Mountain's Most Beautiful Ancient Architecture Check-in Guide

Embark on a spontaneous trip to Emei Mountain! As one of China's Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains, its sea of clouds, Golden Summit, and monkey troops are unforgettable sights. This guide takes you through the most efficient route to explore Emei Mountain and enjoy authentic Sichuan cuisine～

🚶‍♂️Recommended two-day essential itinerary:
Day 1
📍Baoguo Temple (8:00-9:00)
The gateway to Emei Mountain, bustling with incense offerings. You can start here by cleansing your hands and burning incense.
📍Fuhu Temple (9:30-10:30)
A beautifully constructed ancient temple, also home to the popular little monk sculpture.
📍Qingyin Pavilion (11:00-12:00)
For lunch, it’s recommended to eat at a farmhouse restaurant at the foot of the mountain. Try the spicy wontons and spring water tofu pudding.
📍Wannian Temple (13:00-14:30)
Experience the cable car ride up and down; inside the temple, there is a Ming Dynasty bronze Buddha statue.

Day 2
📍Golden Summit (5:30-8:00)
Be sure to get up early to watch the sunrise! If the weather is good, you can see a breathtaking sea of clouds.
📍Leidongping (8:30-10:00)
Remember to bring some snacks to feed the monkeys, but keep a safe distance.
📍Xixiang Pool (10:30-12:00)
Legend says this is where Samantabhadra Bodhisattva bathed his elephant.

🍜 Food Recommendations:
✅ Emei Tofu
Recommended at "Lao Zaotai" near Baoguo Temple, must-try is the Mapo Tofu.
✅ Spring Water Fish
Available at farmhouse restaurants near Qingyin Pavilion, freshly caught and cooked on the spot, especially delicious.
✅ Bamboo Shoot Stir-fried with Pork
The most authentic is made at "Shanzhenge" next to the Wannian Temple parking lot.

⚠️ Practical Tips:
1. Hiking poles are a must! The mountain paths are steep and really hard on your knees.
2. Large temperature differences between morning and evening, bring a jacket even in summer.
3. Don’t expose food in the monkey area, and make sure your backpack zippers are securely closed.

🚌 Transportation Guide:
There are direct buses from Chengdu Xinnanmen Bus Station.
It’s recommended to stay near Baoguo Temple for easy early morning access to the mountain.
