Hiking the cliffs of Étretat was one of the most unforgettable parts of the trip. It takes about 15 minutes to get uphill from the beach to the top, and the path is pretty straightforward, though a bit steep in spots. But as soon as you reach the top, the effort is completely worth it.

The views are absolutely stunning. You’re standing on high grassy cliffs looking out over the bright white chalk formations and the deep blue sea. The arches and needle-like rock jutting out from the water look surreal, like something out of a painting. The contrast between the cliffs, the green grass, and the ocean is just incredible.

There are a few spots where people sit in the grass and stare at the view. It’s windy up there, and the air feels super fresh. It’s the kind of place where you could just sit quietly for a long time and not want to leave.
