🇫🇷 Etretat, a French jewel created by wind and cliffs
Unforgettable travelogue of a Normandy coastal town
Etretat is a small town located on the Normandy coast of France. It takes about 3 and a half hours to get there by train and bus from Paris, but the long journey was worth it at all when you arrive.
The biggest attraction of Etretat is the spectacular scenery created by nature, the white limestone cliffs. In particular, the sunset seen from the Elephant's Nose Rock (Falaise d'Aval) and Arsene Lupin's Viewpoint (La Falaise d'Amont) was like a scene from a movie.
🌊 Recommended Itinerary & Course
Morning: Stroll around Etretat Village + a croissant and coffee at a bakery
Afternoon: Cliff trekking (sneakers are a must!)
Dinner: Seafood dinner overlooking the sea 🍽️ The mussels are especially delicious!
Accommodation Tips: Recommended B&Bs with a sea view! It's quiet and romantic.
📌 Travel Tips
Train from Paris Gare Saint-Lazare to Le Havre → Then take a bus or taxi to Etretat
In summer, the sun sets late, so the days feel long!
It's very windy, so make sure to bring a coat 🌬️
📸 Best photo spots
Sunrise or sunset at Etretat Beach with the sea in the background on the clifftop trail, full-body shot with Elephant's Nose Rock in the background!
✨ One-line review: "Walking along the clifftop trail with the sound of waves, I liked France even more at that moment."
