First day in Florence – the whole city was an art gallery

#JulyTravelSupport

The first thing I noticed upon arriving in Florence was that every building in this city was a work of art. After unpacking at my accommodation, I headed straight to the Basilica di San Lorenzo. The grandeur of the Medici family and the traces of Michelangelo remain intact, making it the perfect spot for a leisurely stroll and appreciation.

The Duomo, a short walk away, was truly breathtaking. The intricate and beautiful marble decorations on its exterior walls were captivating, and the view from Giotto's Campanile, overlooking Florence, was truly breathtaking. The arduous climb to the top, complete with red rooftops and azure sky, was even more beautiful than in the photos.

In the evening, I watched the sunset from Piazzale Michelangelo. The sight of the Duomo bathed in a crimson glow under the twilight sky was the highlight of my day. With a warm cup of coffee at a café, my first day in Florence became a memory filled with art.
