The Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore is a historic church completed in 1436 after over 100 years of construction. Its enormous cupola, a famous example of early Renaissance Gothic architecture, is a highlight.
The highlight is the fresco "The Last Judgment" inside the cupola (the domed ceiling).
With advance reservations, you can ascend the stairs to the rooftop observation deck for a closer look at the magnificent fresco.
While admission to the interior of the Duomo is free, you must purchase a combined ticket and make a reservation in advance on the official website to access the cupola. However, the view from the top of the dome, reached by climbing 463 steps, is breathtaking, so be sure to check it out! ✨
