[Yamanashi] Have Mt. Fuji all to yourself! Fumotoppara Campsite

We camped at Fumotopara Campground, where you can see Mt. Fuji in its entirety! The campsite was covered with grass, and it was a very open-air campsite.

It had rained the day before, so there were some muddy areas, but overall it was flatter than I expected, and it was easy to pitch a tent.

This campsite was in a great location, with Mt. Fuji right in front of us and the deep green mountains on the other side. And above all, the facilities at the campsite were very clean. The washing area was very clean, and the toilet seats were warm and it was so clean that it was hard to believe it was a campsite. I was surprised that there were no bugs, spider webs, or mud stains. I have camped many times before, but this was the cleanest I have ever been to.

You can also use the baths for free, and not only the scenery but also the facilities were very good.

[Points to note]

- Large temperature difference
→ It was early May, so it was fine to wear short sleeves during the day, but it was cold even with a down jacket at night.

- Susceptible to wind
→ The campsite is a large flat area, so you can feel more wind than the weather forecast predicts. We recommend that you drive the pegs firmly into the ground.

・Beware of the compost pile

→As you face Mt. Fuji, the compost pile is on the right side. If you are too close, the smell will be carried by the wind, so if you don't like that, we recommend pitching your tent on the left side if possible.

【Basic information】

・Accommodation is from 8am to 2pm

→You can enter from 8am, so if you want a good location, head there early.

・1000 yen per adult/2000 yen per car parking
