Kanagawa | Super Chill Hotel Resort Atmosphere: 8hotel Recommended for Kamakura and Enoshima

Last time I visited Kamakura and Enoshima, I stayed near Fujisawa Station. Most hotels always feel stuffy—either bad or lacking a sense of vacation. This time, on a recommendation from a Japanese friend, I booked 8hotel. I was surprised to have a truly chill vacation experience after two nights.

First, the location: It's tucked away in an alley next to Fujisawa Station, just a two- or three-minute walk from JR, Eden, and Odakyu. There's a FamilyMart and Lawson nearby, a department store and food court next to the station, and Don Quijote not far away—it's incredibly convenient.

Now, the hotel itself: the entrance feels like a motel, with wooden decor. Then, inside, you'll find 8lounge, where you can enjoy barbecue and drinks in the evening. Inside, the hotel has an American-style resort atmosphere. The reception is small, and the rooms are bare concrete. The best part is the long walkway leading to the bunk area, which effectively blocks out any distracting noise from hallway conversations. Breakfast is also quite innovative, with a choice of hot dogs or bread, accompanied by a buffet of lettuce. The highlight is the unlimited access to three soups, similar to the health-conscious soup restaurants that have become popular in Tokyo in recent years.

The spa costs 2,000 yen and requires a pre-booked time. However, due to the reservation system, the number of guests per session is limited. The hot spring pool, oven, rooftop relaxation lounge chairs, and heated spa pool are all interspersed, creating the illusion of a luxurious, exclusive space.

📍Address: 1-5 Kugenumahanazawacho, Fujisawa, Kanagawa 251-0023, Japan
🚗A three-minute walk from JR Fujisawa Station.
