For the 26th visit to Japan's 28 regional landmark stores, I'm staying in Nagano on the first day of my four-day, three-night trip to Tokyo.
I'll be visiting the Midori Nagano branch located in Nagano Station the day before my first night. It's the only Starbucks Reserve branch in the Shinshu and Joetsu areas.
And early in the morning on the second day, I head to the Starbucks located at the entrance to Zenkoji Temple in Nagano (one of the most visited temples in Japan each year).
It's raining quite heavily. I considered taking the bus, but since I have time, I rent an umbrella from the hotel and walk. Having already visited the main hall of Zenkoji Temple about seven years ago, I'll just stop by Starbucks this time.
After about 20 minutes of walking, I arrive at Starbucks. The scenery and buildings I see along the way are charming, serene, and beautiful, even in the rain, a reflection of Japan's charm.
Similar to this place, it has a similar vibe to Starbucks I've visited in Dazaifu, Kawagoe, Izumo, Miyajima, and Ninenzaka, all located in traditional preservation districts.
The wooden interior, high ceilings, and antique interior evoke a deep Japanese feel. The robatayaki-style seating area is truly beautiful.
The duplex structure boasts a spacious interior. It extends considerably deeper than it appears from the outside. The back entrance adds a unique touch.
The store opens at 7 a.m., and I arrived about 20 minutes after opening, allowing me to fully enjoy the leisurely and quiet atmosphere.
This was a moment when I realized I made the right decision to stay in Nagano. Arriving early allowed me to enjoy my time leisurely. Thank you.
