Hakozaki Shrine, the oldest shrine in Japan


Hakozaki Shrine, considered the oldest shrine in Japan. Built in 921, it has a history of about 1,100 years. Along with Hachiman Shrine and Usa Shrine, it is one of the three major Hachiman shrines in Japan.

Opening hours are from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. There is no separate admission fee.

Many people visit to pray for safe childbirth, academic success, and other wishes. Even if you are not praying for a wish, it is a place worth visiting to appreciate the beauty of the architecture and the tranquil atmosphere.

It is not very large. You can easily see everything in about 10 to 20 minutes.
