Fukuoka|Maizuru Park's weeping cherry blossoms are in bloom first, but the Somei Yoshino cherry blossoms will have to wait a little longer

Among the famous places for cherry blossom viewing in Fukuoka, the most popular one is Maizuru Park, which is located next to the ruins of Fukuoka Castle. There are 19 varieties and about a thousand cherry trees planted in the park. Originally, the cherry blossoms were expected to bloom on the 18th and be in full bloom around the 25th, but due to the sudden freeze some time ago, the flowering period has changed again. When we actually visited Maizuru Park, we found that the weeping cherry trees next to the city wall ruins were in full bloom, one near Tamon Turret and the other near San-no-maru.
In preparation for the cherry blossom viewing event, the castle tower is currently being equipped with lighting in preparation for the night cherry blossom viewing starting on March 26.
3/26-4-6 18:00-22:00 There will be an entrance fee to the cherry blossom garden, the Otaka House ruins, and the Tamon Gyoraku cherry blossom lighting area. There is no admission fee during the day. The flower viewing plaza is open to the public for BBQ from 11:00-22:00. There will be 40 stalls at the entrance area, forming a spring cherry blossom festival.
During our actual visit, we found that the largest number of Somei Yoshino cherry blossoms were in bud, and they will probably be in full bloom in early April. Friends who want to go cherry blossom viewing should not miss it.
