๐ถ Going up to the Hakata Station Rooftop
Taking the escalator and elevator inside the Hakata Station building to the rooftop, you'll find a surprisingly quiet space. Unlike the bustling first-floor waiting room and shopping district, the rooftop exudes a quiet and relaxing atmosphere.
๐ฟ A Hidden Garden
The rooftop features a small garden-like space and a walking path, perfect for a quick break. During the day, the sun shines warmly and the breeze blows cool, creating a feeling of a small retreat in the city. There are benches nearby, and I even saw locals enjoying lunch boxes and drinks.
๐ View from the Observatory
From the observatory, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the trains passing by on the tracks and the Hakata cityscape. During the day, the sky is clear, revealing the outlines of the buildings and offering breathtaking views of the distant mountains. Because it's not a well-known spot for tourists, it's the perfect place to quietly enjoy the daytime scenery of Fukuoka.
๐ Impressions
I thought Hakata Station was simply a transportation hub, but I was surprised to find a hidden observatory and relaxation space on the rooftop. It was a wonderful moment to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, enjoy the clear sky and cool breeze, and gaze out over the city. It was a little gem, a place where I could leisurely spend the day.
