Tiefo Temple, located in Gaoping County, Jincheng, Shanxi, is a thousand-year-old temple that became famous for its clay Buddha statues.
History
Tiefo Temple is named after the iron Buddha, but unfortunately, the iron Buddha has disappeared due to damage. However, the 24 vividly colored Buddha statues in the temple still make Tiefo Temple unique.
There is a main hall in Tiefo Temple, which was built in the Jin Dynasty. There are 24 clay statues around the Buddha hall. The vivid and unique shapes, rich colors, full of creativity and imagination, break the cognition of traditional Buddha statues.
Each sculpture seems to come alive in the next second, with vivid expressions, lifelike, exquisite shapes, and a Chinese sculpture art exhibition.
