Gaoyou: A city worth savoring.

"The four corners of the world, just a bowl of earthly delights." The charm of Gaoyou is the view of Nanmen Street from the Drum Tower, the salty aroma of shrimp roe soy sauce, the rich aroma of "Shuishangpiao," "Wang Tofu," and "Pupao Pork" in the old city, the sugar painting of the word "Gaoyou" by the old man on Nanmen Street, and the thousand-year-old temple in the middle of the Grand Canal, where you can listen to the Buddhist chants and smell the incense, slowly letting go of the troubles of everyday life. Gaoyou is a city worth taking the time to savor.

➡️Travel:
1️⃣ Gaoyou Station is the first choice. After leaving the station, you can take a bus, taxi, or shared electric bike.
2️⃣ Gaoyou North Station is located in Jieshou Town, far from Gaoyou City, and taxis are expensive.

1️⃣ Zhen Guo Temple
Known as the Southern Dayan Pagoda, it is located on a small island in the Grand Canal. Free entry. Red walls and black tiles make for great photos. On the way from Yucheng Post, you can visit the Ming and Qing Dynasties Gaoyou Lake section of the Grand Canal and the flower sea on the lake.

2️⃣ Wang Zengqi Memorial Hall
Reservations are required. The venue is small, but you can learn about Wang Zengqi's life. For photos, we recommend the stairs outside the venue and the spiral staircase inside.

3️⃣ Mengcheng Post
The best-preserved post station to date. Climb the Drum Tower to enjoy the view and beat the drum. For photos, we recommend using the ancient buildings as a background. Next door is the Gaoyou Internet-famous wall, which is also great for photos.

4️⃣ Wenyoutai
The park is quiet and shaded by trees, with many garden-style buildings surrounded by water. It's a great place to relax and learn about Gaoyou's history and culture.

5️⃣ Zhuhu Town
A great place for family activities, with an amusement park, fishing center, and Internet-famous photo spots. The reeds make for great photos.

6️⃣ Gaoyou Lake
Locals recommend going to the pier lighthouse for photos. There are many sailboats, and the sunset is beautiful.

1️⃣ Xiaoding Wonton
Next to the North Gate, CNY 5 for a big bowl. Delicious.
2️⃣ Chunlai Teahouse
Great for morning tea. No service after 12:00.
3️⃣ Red Maple Leaf Breakfast
Recommended by locals. Delicious.
4️⃣ Erzi Pupao Pork
Delicious. CNY 5 each. Vacuum-packed available. Featured on CCTV.
5️⃣ Jiao Jia Xiang Noodle House
Eel noodles and shredded pork noodles. The shrimp roe wontons are also good.
6️⃣ Red Sun Salted Duck Eggs
Visit the factory to buy duck eggs as gifts.
7️⃣ Chuanhe Oil-braised Goose
Delicious. CNY 45 per jin. Quarter goose.
8️⃣ Yangda Yogurt
Jasmine flavor is delicious.
