The Unsettling Beauty of the Statuary"
The park's existing stone statuary—the marble busts and classic figures—were used with chilling effect. Instead of removing them, the designers incorporated them into the horror. A single, bloody handprint placed on the chest of a white marble figure, or an actor posing perfectly still as an identical statue, only to move when you passed, turned these familiar garden ornaments into creepy sentinels. This subtle manipulation of the park's permanent features was genius and incredibly effective.
