I visited Fukue Island for the first time.
⚫︎ The Day Before
Stayed at 'Hotel Belleview Nagasaki Dejima,' located near Nagasaki Port (photos 16 and 17).
⚫︎ Nagasaki Port → Fukue Port
Departure: 7:40 AM → Arrival: 9:05 AM via Jetfoil ¥8,770
*Reserved through the Kyushu Shosen website the day before.
⚫︎ Fukue Island → Nagasaki Port
Departure: 4:50 PM → Arrival: 8:00 PM via Ferry ¥3,920
*No reservation required.
The jetfoil was incredibly smooth and quick, while the ferry provided blankets for lying down, making both options very comfortable.
⚫︎ Hotel
Kararito Goto Islands (with breakfast included).
⚫︎ Meals
- Oddon-tei (Goto Udon)
- Yashio (Izakaya)
A rental car is essential on the island. Once you start driving, you'll find the roads simple and easy to navigate, giving you much more freedom with a car.
On the first day, it rained, but I enjoyed visiting churches and a museum. The Nizo Yamamoto Art Museum is a must-visit for Studio Ghibli fans!
The second day was sunny. Onidake offered a refreshing breeze and breathtaking views of the sea. Takahama Beach exceeded expectations with its dazzling white sand and crystal-clear waters. The vibrant blue of the sea was stunning.
Both the Goto Udon and the fresh seafood were absolutely delicious, so I highly recommend trying them. *Many izakayas were fully booked at night, so making reservations in advance is advisable if you plan to visit.
