Mr. Chen drove me to the south of Iceland for 5 hours today. It is a very famous Golden Circle attraction in Grímsnes in southern Iceland. Kerið Crater attracts many photographers every year. The scenery is so beautiful that every shot is a masterpiece (laughing). The beautiful crater lake was formed by a volcanic eruption 6,500 years ago. It is oval in shape and is about 270 meters long, 170 meters wide and 55 meters deep. It is quite spectacular when you walk up to the top of the mountain. It is completely covered with snow in winter. Due to minerals, the lake surface will appear blue-green in summer. It will look a bit like the eyes of the Japanese witch Okama. You can walk along the trails on the top of the mountain or by the lake. Some places between going up and down the mountain are very steep and not easy to walk. And some ice surfaces are very easy to slip. It is recommended that you wear snow boots or prepare crampons in winter. If you drive yourself, the parking lot of the crater lake is free. But remember to pay the entrance fee at the ticket booth before visiting the crater lake (ISK750 per person). After paying the fee, enter the fence to start the visit.
