Guilin high-quality hotel swimming pool slow walking experience 🌞

The most memorable moment of my trip to Guilin was spending time with my family at the Sheraton Guilin Hotel (Elephant Trunk Hill, Two Rivers, Four Lakes Branch). Located near the city center and nestled against the Li River, the hotel's prime location offers convenient transportation and is a short walk to must-see attractions like Elephant Trunk Hill and the Sun and Moon Twin Pagodas. It's perfect for a quick photo stop or a leisurely stroll, making it a great choice for traveling with children or older family members.

While the hotel's exterior has a somewhat historic feel, the interior has been renovated, offering comprehensive facilities and a clean, uncluttered environment. It captures the charm of Guilin while offering modern comforts. The pool is clean and perfect for both children and adults. For breakfast, while the hotel offers both Western and Chinese options, I highly recommend their Guilin rice noodles. They're authentic and filling, and a bowl early in the morning is truly a true local experience. The Executive Lounge is spacious and perfect for family gatherings or simple business meetings, offering a diverse and high-quality menu.

What impressed me most about my stay was the attentiveness and professionalism of the staff. Families with children will especially appreciate the meticulous care provided by the hotel. Whether it's pool lifeguards, room cleaners, dining assistance, or proactive assistance with activity plans, the staff are incredibly attentive. Any minor issues are promptly addressed, which is reassuring.

The travel photography service is definitely a highlight. The hotel provides a free photographer to help with travel photography, and the photos are professional, perfect for those who love capturing vacation memories. However, some guests have commented that the facilities are a bit dated, the soundproofing is average, and the service is sometimes inefficient. These aren't major issues for me, but for those accustomed to high-end hotels, I recommend communicating your needs in advance or choosing a renovated area.

Travel Tip: If staying, book a room that includes breakfast or Executive Lounge access for a better value. For nearby attractions, we recommend visiting Elephant Trunk Hill early in the morning for less crowded views and strolling along the river in the evening to enjoy the nightscape of the Two Rivers and Four Lakes. Families with children should definitely enjoy the hotel pool and travel photography sessions, creating memorable photos. Also, Guilin has a significant temperature difference between morning and evening, so remember to bring a jacket.

Booking tips: Prices fluctuate significantly during peak season (especially during summer vacation and National Day), so it's recommended to book one to two months in advance. Also, be aware of early bird discounts or meal-inclusive packages on platforms like Ctrip and Fliggy. When choosing a room, consider river views and high floors.
