Yanguan Ancient Town, Jiaxing

This lesser-known ancient town in the Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai area is absolutely beautiful! Haining's Yanguan Ancient Town really surprised me a lot, especially the Lefang Bridge area, which is a perfect photo spot for capturing the beauty of the Jiangnan water towns 📸

Lefang Bridge is located within the Tide-Watching Scenic Park of Yanguan Ancient Town (Address: Yanguan Town, Haining City, Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province). It perfectly preserves the style of a traditional Jiangnan ancient town. It feels especially atmospheric on rainy days, with the misty rain blurring the blue stone paths and white walls with black tiles—every snapshot looks like an ink painting. On sunny days, the sunlight shining on the small bridge creates a bright and charming scene.

I highly recommend visiting at dusk! When the red lanterns of the ancient town light up and reflect on the river, the view is stunning~ Plus, there aren’t many people, so you can stroll and take photos at your leisure. The ancient buildings near Lefang Bridge are very well preserved, and any corner you turn might hide a surprise.

If you come on a rainy day, remember to wear non-slip shoes, as the stone bridges and stone paths can be slippery. The ancient town also has many specialty snacks and handicraft shops; Yang’s Stinky Tofu and Qiantang Crisp Cakes are both worth trying. Parking around is very convenient and free, which is really great!
