【Fukuoka Travel】A Charming Small Restaurant

During my trip to Fukuoka, I visited Hakata and met up with a friend from my student days. She took me to a small restaurant run by someone she knows☺️

This cozy spot, managed by a female proprietor, offers a warm and mature atmosphere🍶. Both owners are certified nutritionists, and they create seasonal menus featuring homemade "obanzai" and "sake pairings"🥰.

What's more, it's reasonably priced🥹✨.

The interior exudes a calming wooden warmth, with only seven counter seats🪑. It felt welcoming even for solo diners🙆♀️.

──────────────────
▶︎ 7-item obanzai platter (3-item platter: 500 yen)
▶︎ Stuffed cabbage roll (1 piece): 700 yen
▶︎ Spanish mackerel spring roll with butterbur miso (1 piece): 700 yen
▶︎ Chicken wings marinated in kelp: 800 yen
▶︎ Seasonal tempura: 900 yen and up
──────────────────

The dishes are generally portioned for two people, and if you visit as a pair, they will divide the servings onto two plates🙆♀️.

In other words... does that mean half price for solo diners?!😳

☑︎ Grated new onion soup (starter)

☑︎ 7-item obanzai platter
- Uruoi greens and firefly squid
- Simmered chicken and bamboo shoots
- Grilled eel sushi
- Butterbur and fish simmered with ginger
- Red ginger fish cake
- Udo tempura
- Smoked oyster marinated with crackers

This platter, featuring a little bit of the day's recommended dishes, was absolutely delightful❣️

☑︎ Spanish mackerel sashimi
Served with cherry blossom leaf jelly and deep-fried salted cherry blossom leaves

☑︎ Young tuna
Served with ponzu and sesame oil

☑︎ Spear squid with kinome miso

☑︎ Spring cabbage stuffed cabbage roll

☑︎ Spanish mackerel spring roll with butterbur miso

☑︎ Chicken wings marinated in kelp
Meticulously prepared over three days, these kelp-marinated chicken wings are grilled to perfection🐓. The crispy skin and the burst of umami with every bite were incredible🤤.

☑︎ Sea bream and bamboo shoot clay pot rice

Each dish was crafted with utmost care and attention to detail, delivering refined and delicate flavors.

Everything was so delicious that I was truly moved🥹✨.

Especially, the pairing with Japanese sake was outstanding🍶.
