Goryokaku Cherry Blossom Viewing｜Cherry blossoms in full bloom with a picnic, I really want to join this spring party!

My first time viewing cherry blossoms in Goryokaku, I was truly captivated by the spectacle. The star-shaped castle walls, surrounded by a sea of ​​cherry blossoms, looked down upon like a magnificent display of pink stars. Stepping inside created a whole new kind of romance.

Unfortunately, peak bloom had passed when I arrived, and some of the trees were beginning to shed their snow and sprout new leaves. But since it was the weekend, the entire park was still bustling with locals and tourists, spread out picnic mats, and filled with bento boxes and drinks. Children were running around, people were playing guitar, and others were bringing their pets to bask in the sun. The entire lawn felt like a springtime party.

Standing beneath the cherry trees and watching all this unfold, I was tempted to join in (laughs). Even if I just grabbed a hot coffee and sat down, I felt a sense of relaxation and happiness.

If you enjoy taking photos, picnics, and a lively yet uncrowded atmosphere, a springtime visit to Goryokaku is highly recommended.
