Hokkaido⭐️ Star-shaped castle! Introducing Goryokaku

Goryokaku in Hakodate, Hokkaido, was built in 1864 as Japan's first Western-style castle to strengthen defense following the opening of the port of Hakodate following the conclusion of the Treaty of Peace and Amity between the United States and Japan. It is said that the star-shaped castle has the advantage of having fewer blind spots for the defenders.

It gets dark early in Hokkaido, and we were able to see a beautiful night view from Goryokaku Tower.
