[Odawara/Hakone] Annual fireworks displays and summer events!

Although it's not well known, summer festivals in Odawara and Hakone are actually quite exciting!

The Hakone Gora Onsen Daimonjiyaki Festival is scheduled to celebrate its 104th anniversary this year, making it a historic and beloved event among local residents and locals alike.

The Sakawa River Fireworks Festival is my favorite, and I attend it every year, with approximately 10,000 fireworks launched into the sky.

👆One of Kanagawa Prefecture's most popular fireworks festivals, with views from up close from the Sakawa River riverbank. The musical fireworks and Niagara fireworks that explode across the river are also spectacular!
This year, the event took place on August 2nd, but it's usually held in early August, so be sure to check it out every year♪

👆 The sight of the Daimonjiyaki burning from the darkness of Mt. Myojin-ga-take is breathtaking! You can enjoy it along with the fireworks at one of Hakone's three major festivals. Apparently there will also be an opening ceremony and street vendors around Gora Station.
You can see the Daimonji mountainside during the daytime all year round, so even on days other than the festival, the views from the viewing spots are spectacular. ⛰️
