Handan City Museum is a national first-class museum. Here's a guide to visiting:
Preparation
• Reservations: Make free reservations through the "Leyouji" mini-program or official account.
• Information: Pay attention to official announcements for opening hours. The museum is open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Tuesday to Sunday, with last entry at 4:00 pm. Check the exhibition schedule for special exhibitions.
• Transportation: Take the bus to the City Museum · Longhu Park East Gate Station or the Cultural Arts Center Station. If driving, park in the parking lot opposite the Melody City shopping mall.
Visiting
• Guided Tours: Free guided tours are available daily at 9:30 am and 2:30 pm for a better understanding of the exhibits.
• Order of Visit: It is recommended to start on the 3rd floor with the "Splendor of 'Gandan'—Handan History and Culture Exhibition," then proceed to the 4th floor for the "Cizhou Kiln Porcelain Exhibition," "Handan Ancient Stone Carving Art Exhibition," and "Chinese Coins Through the Ages Exhibition." Finally, visit the Idiom Exhibition on the 2nd floor.
• Must-See Exhibits: Admire the Warring States Period bronze horse, the large jue wine vessel, the "Handan Smile" laughing Lohan head, and the gilt bronze inlaid jade three-dragon ornament, among other treasures of the museum.
Interactive Experiences
• Stamps: Stamps are available next to the escalator on the 2nd floor, the coffee shop on the 3rd floor, and the coffee shop and service desk on the 1st floor.
• Coin Pressing: A coin-pressing machine is available on the 2nd floor for 10 yuan to print personalized patterns.
Dining and Rest
You can dine at the Melody City shopping mall opposite the museum or find food at the supermarket on the 4th floor and B1 level of the museum.
