Tsugaru Cultural Experience

The Tsugaru-han Neputa Village (津輕藩睡魔村）is a must-visit site when you come to Hirosaki. It is close to the exit of the Hirosaki Park. It opens all year round. There’s a real big apple tree right planted in front of the ticketing office. When you enter the Neputa Hall (睡魔館）， you are greeted with an actual-sized Neputa Float (遊行燈籠）。You will then be seated and relaxed to enjoy its traditional drum playing and Tsugaru Shamisen(三味線）performance. You are also invited to try the drums yourself thereafter. You are free to stroll around the village at your own pace. They have gift shop and DIY area if you’re interested.
