Hiroshima is not just a travel destination; it is a place that leaves a profound impression. As I entered the Peace Memorial Park, I felt the coexistence of past pain and present peace in its serene atmosphere. Standing before the Atomic Bomb Dome, an indescribable wave of heavy emotions washed over me, and every step I took became a meaningful act of remembrance.
Contrary to my expectations, the city was lively in many areas. The bustling streets were lined with restaurants and shops, and Hiroshima's signature dish, okonomiyaki, was a must-try. The thick noodles and abundant ingredients were more than enough to soothe the fatigue of travel.
Additionally, Miyajima Island's red torii gate and blue sea resembled a picturesque scene. The sight of deer roaming freely was memorable, and the panoramic view from the island's heights revealed yet another charm of this city.
Hiroshima is a city that carries the weight of its painful history while showcasing the strength to live in the present. As I concluded my journey, I returned home with a lasting resonance in my heart.
