The Vietnamese Water Puppet originated from the Red River Delta of Vietnam in the 10th century. Water Puppetry is deeply imbued with the cultural characteristics of the people of this area. This unique art first appeared around the 15th century, when post-harvest, artists who were also farmers would gather to perform and relax.
Golden Dragon Water Puppet Theater is located at 55B Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Phuong Ben Thanh, District 1, HCMC, and the performances are every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday from 1830 to 1930. The price of the ticket depends on where you want to sit.
The show is in Vietnamese, and it is advised to book the show in advance by contacting the Golden Dragon Theater or through a tour agency, because the tickets usually run out in peak season.
