A Legindary Viewpoint in Tam Coc

Here’s how my 2D1N getaway went:
Where I stayed – Tam Coc Windy Field
This homestay is literally set in the middle of rice fields – super chill and peaceful. Waking up to the sight of endless green paddies felt like a dream. Breakfast was included, and having it right by the rice fields was honestly one of the most relaxing moments of the trip. They even have bicycles you can borrow to ride around the village. The staff were really warm and helpful, which made the stay even better. 🌿🚲
Day 1 – Nature, culture & good food
First stop was Tam Coc – Bich Dong. The scenery here is breathtaking – limestone mountains, rivers, caves, everything! The only downside was that the boat rower kept asking for tips, which felt a little pushy. But still, the views totally made up for it. Pro tip: ask the boat rower to stop at the photo spots along the way (I forgot the exact names, but they’re worth it!). 📸
For lunch, I tried Ninh Binh-style bun cha – a must-try local dish!
Dinner was at Chinh Thu Goat Restaurant, famous for Ninh Binh’s specialty goat meat. The place was spacious, polite, and the food was pretty good. 🐐
At night, I explored Hoa Lu Ancient Town. When the lights came on, the whole area turned magical. There were plenty of restaurants and cafes to choose from, and the highlight was a water puppet show – so charming and unique to Vietnamese culture.
Day 2 – Slow morning vibes
On the second day, I just chilled at the homestay, soaking in the view of the rice fields one last time before checking out. Sometimes, doing nothing in such a peaceful setting is the best part of a trip. 🌾💆♀️
✨ Final thoughts: Ninh Binh in 2 days gave me the perfect mix of nature, culture, and relaxation. If you’re looking for a quick escape from the hustle and bustle, this is the place to go.
