Among the Lotus Flowers

Ninh Binh in lotus season feels like a watercolor painting. Around Tam Coc and Ninh Nhat, the ponds were covered in pink blooms and big green leaves floating on the surface. I stopped my bike near one, and the air was filled with their gentle scent. Dragonflies hovered above the petals, and the reflection of the mountains danced in the water. I sat for a while, just watching. There’s something meditative about the way the lotus opens to the sun, so simple yet full of grace. It’s impossible not to slow down when you’re surrounded by that kind of beauty.
