Hoi An was a “city where time flows slowly” to me.
The place where I spent the most leisurely and emotional day during my trip to Southeast Asia.
The ancient city of Hoi An, which I arrived at early in the morning, was quieter than I thought. Colorful lanterns, yellow walls, small and cute shops… Just walking among them made my heart feel clearer.
I had a quick bite at a banh mi restaurant recommended by locals, and sat in a quiet teahouse and drank tea without saying a word.
In the afternoon, I walked along the Thu Bon River. I could have taken a boat, but I liked walking while watching the water flow better. It was a trip that focused on ‘rest’ rather than sightseeing.
When the sun was setting, I headed to An Bang Beach.
The red sky, the sound of waves, and a can of beer in the middle of it all.
At that moment, everything was enough even if I didn’t do anything.
Everyone needs a trip like that at least once.
Not a trip to take pictures, but a city in Southeast Asia where you just go to ‘rest.’ Hoi An was the perfect place for such a trip.
