[How to get around Hokkaido in winter?]

I've always wanted to go to the Shiretoko Peninsula, but I've been avoiding it because I think it would be difficult to travel around Hokkaido in the winter.
If anyone has been there, I'd love to hear more about how to get there! 🤔

Should I go on a tour?
If I'm used to driving, would it be possible to get there by car?
