In addition, Po Lin Monastery (English: Po Lin Monastery), also known as Po Lin Monastery, is a Buddhist temple in Hong Kong and one of Hong Kong's tourist attractions. It is located in Ngong Ping, Lantau Island, New Territories, between Maitreya Mountain and Phoenix Mountain. The temple was formerly a large thatched hut, which was built in 1906 (the 32nd year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty) by three Zen masters, Dunxiu, Dayue and Yueming, from Jinshan Temple in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu, China. It was not until 1924 that the first abbot, Monk Ji Xiu, officially named it the Po Lin Monastery.
