Brilliant lighting illuminates the city, 41 years of warmth
The "Shining Tsim Sha Tsui East" event organized by the East Tsim Sha Tsui Real Estate Developers Association has entered its 41st year this year. The exterior lights of many buildings in the district and along the seaside promenade will be lit up simultaneously from tonight. The colorful and pleasing Christmas lights illuminate both sides of the Victoria Harbour, adding to the festive atmosphere for the upcoming Christmas and New Year. East Tsim Sha Tsui is definitely a must-visit destination for Hong Kong citizens and tourists during this winter holiday.
Shining Tsim Sha Tsui 2023 Lights up Victoria Harbour and sends festive greetings
This year, Tsim Sha Tsui Centre and Empire Centre will exhibit the new digital light art work "In-Between the Sky: A Festive Beacon" by British visual lighting artist Rupert Newman, celebrating the universal Christmas through dreamy images like a Christmas kaleidoscope; and Mody Road will also continue Rupert's work, transforming dynamic visual art into traditional lighting installations and adding music effects to bring everyone a refreshing experience; three footbridges along Mody Road are equipped with lighting installations with Christmas gift package patterns, exuding a strong festive atmosphere; Millennium New World Hong Kong Hotel uses environmentally friendly bulbs to stack up golden "pearls", adding a dazzling atmosphere to the Christmas holiday, and with red and green lights, it shines brightly, symbolizing joy everywhere. Nanyang Centre’s exterior wall is decorated with a happy Christmas scene, with the words “Merry X’mas” hung on the wall, offering gifts and laughter to everyone; Wing On Plaza is themed with the colorful and cute Santa Claus, who shines brightly against the backdrop of fireworks, creating a festive atmosphere of universal joy; Regal Kowloon Hotel has themed decorations related to the Christmas season, allowing everyone to feel the deep joy of Christmas; InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong is themed with fireworks, using red and silver holiday decorations with twinkling lights to send colorful and dazzling holiday blessings; The Royal Garden Hotel has hung 38 giant snowflakes with flashing dynamic effects this year to create a warm and romantic winter atmosphere; many giant inflatable Santa Clauses appeared outside the Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel, Hong Kong, some of which were sitting playfully on the roof, some were greeting passers-by lively, and some were climbing to the top floor with vitality, as if to send endless Christmas surprises to everyone.
Mr. Yau Man-wah, Chairman of the East Tsim Sha Tsui Property Developers Association, said: "The Christmas lights in East Tsim Sha Tsui are well-known both at home and abroad. It is not only a must-visit hotspot for Hong Kong people during Christmas, but tourists are also flocking to the gorgeous Christmas lights in East Tsim Sha Tsui. East Tsim Sha Tsui has complete supporting facilities, including a seaside promenade built along the coast with beautiful views of Victoria Harbour, vast public spaces, restaurants offering a variety of global cuisines, five-star hotels, and shopping malls. These are all good places for local citizens and tourists to enjoy a unique experience. I sincerely thank the members of the Association for their support and contributions over the years. I hope that through the light of the lights, we can light up the night sky on both sides of Victoria Harbour, celebrate this universal festival with Hong Kong citizens and tourists from all over the world, and send everyone festive blessings!"
