Introducing Zhang Liao's Tomb

There are two tombs of Zhang Liao in Xiaoyaojin Park in Hefei, one on the island in the middle of the lake and the other near the west gate of Xiaoyaojin.

At the simple dock on the lake's island stood a stone tablet. The text on the back had been scratched through, making it illegible. The front bore the five characters "Zhang Liao's Tomb," signed in the year Guihai.

Not far east of the west gate of Xiaoyaojin, a tall stone memorial archway can be seen from afar. A sacred path leads to the mausoleum, flanked by stone animal statues. The cemetery, lush with pine and cypress trees, exudes a solemn and majestic atmosphere. A bluestone relief sculpture on the base resembles a dragon, its fangs and claws bared, a majestic sight. Carved on it are nine seal characters: "Tomb of Zhang Liao, Marquis of Wei's Former Duting."

The tomb of Zhang Liao is a cenotaph for clothing and hats. The existing tomb, Zhang Liao Exhibition Hall, Xiaoyao Pavilion, and Dujin Bridge are still in existence. The Hefei Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government have decided to comprehensively renovate Xiaoyaojin Park, including the construction of a stele pavilion, a tomb mound, a pavilion corridor, and a Three Kingdoms story sculpture. The bronze statue of Zhang Liao will be replaced, making the Zhang Liao Tomb a complete scenic spot, enhancing the Three Kingdoms cultural connotation of the attraction, and improving the park environment.
