Castle Peak Zen Monastery, also known as Castle Peak Temple, is located on the eastern slope of Castle Peak in Tuen Mun District, New Territories. Together with Ling Yun Temple in Pat Heung and Ling To Temple in Yuen Long, it is known as one of Hong Kong’s three major ancient temples. On the east side of Castle Peak Zen Monastery, there is Castle Peak Temple Path leading to Tuen Mun town center; visitors can slowly walk up the mountain, passing by several hermitages and temples. At the mountain gate, there are dozens of stone steps; climbing up, passing through the Four Heavenly Kings at the gate, and ascending several more steps, you will reach the main hall. To the left are the guesthouse and vegetarian kitchen, and to the right is Qingyun Pavilion, which houses the ashes of the deceased. Continuing up the stone steps beside the main hall leads to Beidu Rock. However, the hillside is currently undergoing slope protection wall repairs, so there is temporarily little to see.
