There is a Taiwanese restaurant at Tai Wai Wai Fong Shopping Mall with great value afternoon tea

Taipei Liabang

This is my second visit to this Taiwanese restaurant called "Taipei Liabang," located on the 5th floor of Wai Fong Shopping Mall. Their afternoon tea is very affordable, with set meals starting at $46, including a designated hot drink, and you can also pay extra to upgrade to other drinks!

1. Braised Beef Noodles with Traditional Braised Pork Rice $58 + Taro Pearl Milk Tea $12 (9.5/10)
This set includes a bowl of braised beef noodles and traditional braised pork rice. The beef in the noodles is very tender, and the noodles are chewy and springy, slightly narrower than wide noodles. The braised pork rice comes with a soft-boiled egg that is slightly salty. The braised pork suits the Hong Kong palate, not too sweet, with a good balance of fat and lean meat. The drink was upgraded for $12 to taro pearl milk tea, which has a strong taro flavor. The pearls are chewy and not hard in the center, and the whole drink is not too sweet!

2. Salted Crispy Chicken Floss Braised Pork Rice with Seaweed Meatball Soup and Sweet Potato Crisps $62 + Brown Sugar Pearl Milk Tea $12 (8.5/10)
The salted crispy chicken has too much seasoning powder and tastes a bit salty, with five pieces of salted crispy chicken in total. The braised pork rice comes with a soft-boiled egg that is slightly salty. The braised pork suits the Hong Kong palate, not too sweet, with a good balance of fat and lean meat. The seaweed meatball soup is very salty, and the meatballs are cut into four small pieces. The drink was upgraded for $12 to brown sugar pearl milk tea, with chewy pearls that are not hard in the center and a slightly sweet taste!

3. Penghu Lychee Shrimp Balls (6 pieces) $62 (9.5/10)
They are very crispy when bitten into, shaped like lychees, filled with shrimp paste, and there are six lychee shrimp balls in total. Quite good!

4. Salted Egg Yolk Taro Pastry (3 pieces) $46 (10/10)
Very hot when bitten into, proving it was freshly fried. The aroma of salted egg yolk and taro paste blends very well. There are three pieces of salted egg yolk taro pastry, a must-order!

5. Aiwen Mango Green Tea $19 (6/10)
You can get half price on drinks with snacks. Originally, a cup of Aiwen mango green tea costs $38, but this drink had no mango flavor or green tea flavor, not worth the price!

Total price for 2 people: $298, plus service charge!

Personal overall rating: 8.7/10
