Hong Kong Restaurant Review: Galbi Gung in Tai Wai

With the New Year approaching, it's the perfect time to gather with friends for a meal. We chose the Korean restaurant [Mok Zhen] at Wai Fong, conveniently located above Tai Wai Station.

We ordered the two-person set menu [Gong•Ya Banquet], which included all our favorite Korean BBQ and fried chicken dishes. Perfect!

The appetizer [Gujeolpan] is a classic Korean royal dish, colorful and festive, with side dishes like shredded carrots, cucumbers, zucchini, and eggs. The noodles are sweet and sour, making it a great starter. Mix it all together!

The [Half & Half Fried Chicken] offers two flavors in one serving. The skin is crispy, the meat is tender and juicy, and it's even more delicious with honey butter sauce.

We also ordered [Grape Soda] and [Lychee Soda], very refreshing!

Next up was the BBQ. Each type of beef had its own unique flavor. The [Selected Brisket] was extremely juicy; the [Wagyu Outside Skirt] was rich in fat; the [Thinly Sliced Beef Tongue] was tender and smooth. My favorite was the [Giant Short Rib], which sizzled on the grill and paired perfectly with a squeeze of lime juice to cut the grease.

The [Cheese Mushrooms] had a stretchy cheese effect after grilling, making the texture even smoother. The salty cheese and the sweet mushrooms were a great match.

The [Octopus] was impressively large, and thankfully, the staff helped cut it for grilling. It had a chewy texture and was deliciously flavorful.

The [Traditional Rice Cake Soup] was perfect for the cold weather, warming us up nicely.

The restaurant has an elegant ambiance, high-quality ingredients, and reasonable prices. Highly recommended!
