The seawater here is as blue as jelly! Take a speedboat from Wong Shek Pier into Tai Po Bay, admire the sharp peaks of Snake's Head Point along the way, and just around the bend, you'll see the whole island swaying with yellow cogongrass—this deserted island, known as the "Maldives of Hong Kong," is waiting for you to discover~
🌊 Highlights with zero difficulty:
✔️ Glass Sea Snorkeling: The water is so clear you can see the coral garden on the seabed. Kick with your yellow duck fins, and the fish will swim around you in circles!
✔️ Old Lighthouse No. 118: A must-visit for photos! The stone steps and iron railings are full of vintage vibes, making your pictures look like a foreign island~
✔️ Deserted Island Picnic: Bring cold drinks and salad, spread out on the fine white sandy beach, and enjoy the sea breeze while eating to your heart’s content~
✔️ Diving DIY: The brave can jump straight into the jelly-like sea. Remember to wear good water shoes, as the rocks can be a bit slippery!
⚠️ Deserted Island Survival Tips:
✅ Prepare for no signal: There’s no reception on the whole island, so inform your family of your itinerary before you go!
✅ Bring enough supplies: Carry extra water and ready-to-eat food; this deserted island has no convenience stores, so you might get hungry!
✅ Layer up for sun protection: Long-sleeve swimwear + sun protection shirt + headscarf. Sunburn is painful (learned from personal tearful experience😭)
✅ Travel in groups: The island is uninhabited, so go with at least 3 people for safety first!
When the sunset dyes the sea golden red, look back at Wong Mau Chau while taking the speedboat back. This summer’s most poetic adventure is actually hidden in a corner of Sai Kung, Hong Kong~ Remember to take all your trash with you to keep this glass sea forever clear!
