I once saw a friend dining with their dog at a dim sum place in Tseung Kwan O, with a stunning sea view in the background. After asking, I found out it was this pet-friendly restaurant called DHYC (Dak Hin Yum Cha).
This time, we didn’t bring any pets, but we visited in the evening to try not only their dim sum but also their main dishes.
Quail Egg Truffle Siu Mai | Deep-Fried Glutinous Dumplings
These two dim sum items are quite nostalgic! Each siu mai contains a quail egg that’s slightly runny, offering a delightful texture.
The deep-fried glutinous dumplings are top-notch, made in the traditional way. The golden, crispy exterior encases a filling of pork and shiitake mushrooms, with a sweet and savory flavor that’s rich and satisfying.
Sweet and Sour Pork with Pineapple | Steamed Egg with Dried Scallops
The steamed egg with dried scallops is a simple home-style dish, but achieving a smooth and perfectly steamed texture is no easy feat.
The sweet and sour pork with pineapple pairs wonderfully with rice. The meat quality is quite good, and overall, it’s very satisfying.
Fried Rice with Dried Scallops and Egg White
Even a simple fried rice dish is flavorful without being overly greasy.
