Climb the stairs to see the big Buddha, Tian Tan Buddha 🇭🇰

#VisitHongKong The Tian Tan Buddha (Big Buddha Po Lin) on Lantau Island, Hong Kong, is one of the island's most famous and beautiful landmarks. This colossal bronze Buddha sits atop a lotus-shaped pedestal, reaching 34 meters high. It sits atop a high hill, offering panoramic views, making it a very popular destination for tourists. It's also close to Hong Kong Airport, so some people plan to stop here before boarding their flight, or visit it on their last day before their flight home. (This is our plan: stop here and go straight to the airport.)
🌀If you're up for it, climb the 268 steps to admire the Buddha up close. Take a leisurely walk, and if you're tired, take a break. The top is incredibly beautiful, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, clouds, and sea. Inside, beneath the Buddha's pedestal, there's an exhibition hall showcasing stories of important people, art, and religion. It's incredibly beautiful, but I couldn't take any photos to share. (Photography is prohibited inside.) Everyone has to see it for themselves.
🚙Getting there: We took the MTR Tung Chung Line to Tung Chung Station, exited at Exit B, and then took the Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car for about 25 minutes to Ngong Ping Village. (You can buy Ngong Ping cable car tickets in advance through trip.com, which are very affordable.) From there, we walked up the path to the Big Buddha at Po Lin Monastery.
