At the beginning of the year, an exhibition helped me rediscover our harbor. The artist used cross-harbor swimming as a theme, reminding us that Hong Kong was originally a fishing port. Many friends visit here as tourists, and Victoria Harbour, with its daily passing ships, still holds remnants of the past, especially on race days that evoke nostalgic emotions. While the races bring excitement, it’s worth pausing to reflect on how Hong Kongers work tirelessly every day for a better life, though maintaining good health is equally important.
In Sheung Wan’s PMQ, I discovered a British artist’s giraffe piano. If you know how to play, feel free to perform here, as music itself brings joy. Nearby, on the fences during the Lunar New Year, you’ll find festive couplets wishing everyone a fresh start to the year. There are also murals in the area, showcasing how art is all around us. Next time you’re in Central and Sheung Wan, continue exploring the works of these talented artists.
